Rick Liberty

Richard “Rick” Liberty, Jr., 62, of Falls City, passed away April 5, 2014 at Lincoln. He was born Nov. 7, 1951 at Falls City to Richard Liberty, Sr. and the late Leora (Rowell) Liberty.

Rick was drafted in the U.S. Army on Aug. 26, 1971. He earned the Natinal Defense Service Medal and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was honorably discharged on April 11, 1972 at Oakland, CA.

On May 17, 1980 he married Deb Mullens at Kansas City, MO.

Rick was raised in the Kansas City area. Following his military service he returned to Kansas City and worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass Factory and then worked doing landscaping in the Kansas City area until 1997. The couple moved to Falls City in 1998 and he worked on a dairy farm until 2001 when he retired due to his health.

Rick is survived by his wife, Deb of Falls City; father, Richard, Sr. of Tonganoxie, KS; brothers, Tim (Sandy), Steve (Deborah), Gerald (Brenda), all of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Theresa (Louie) Gonzales of Tonganoxie, Terrie (Matt) Foster, Becky (Kevin) Nowling, both of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Butch Liberty officiating. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
