The NSAA announced the official pairings for the Boys State Basketball Tournament next Thursday through Saturday, Mar. 13-15 in Lincoln.
In Class C-1, district champions, Falls City High, hot off their upset of second-ranked Lincoln Christian Monday night, are seeded third and face defending champions Wahoo at 10:45 a.m. at the Devaney Sports Center.
Falls City Sacred Heart dropped a heartbreaker in overtime, 63-60, to top-ranked Exeter-Milligan Tuesday night in Norris and dropped from the top seed to number two. The Irish face last year’s third-place game opponent, Leyton, Thursday at 10:45 at Lincoln Southeast.
Potential semifinal opponents for the Tigers are either No. 2 Wayne or No. 7 Cozad, with that semifinal to be held at 9 a.m. Friday morning at the new Pinnacle Bank Arena (PBA). The C-1 State Championship game is Saturday morning at 9 at PBA, while the third-place game will be played at Noon Saturday at Lincoln Southeast High School.
A win Thursday for the Irish and they face either No. 3 Bancroft-Rosalie or No. 6 Hitchcock County at 7 p.m. Friday at Devaney. The D-2 State Championship is Saturday night at 8:30 at PBA and the third-place consolation will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Southeast High School.

A young Falls City man will be formally acknowledged for his heroic act next Thursday evening, May 2, in Lincoln during the 12th Annual “Tribute to Heroes Awards Dinner” sponsored by the Nebraska/Southwest Iowa Region of the American Red Cross.
