FCPD moving north

Falls City Police Chief John Caverzagie said the department’s administrative offices and dispatching services are scheduled to move to the new City offices at 2307 Barada beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 29.

This move will also include the Richardson County 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).

Caverzagie said the move “will present a challenge” and will require coordination of numerous entities in order to do so seamlessly.  He said several technical elements are involved, no changes in dispatching and no communication interruptions are expected.

“The Police Department will maintain our administrative phone lines during the move for dispatching services,” the chief said.  All 911 calls will be temporarily routed to Johnson County PSAP.  Johnson County will transfer these calls to FCPD’s administrative lines for immediate dispatch.  The move of the local PSAP is expected to take from six to eight hours.

Any questions can be directed to Chief Caverzagie at 402-245-4422.
