Ted G. Bentley, 85, of Ft. Calhoun, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. He was born on Sept. 9, 1928 in Rulo to George and Helen (Frederick) Bentley.
He was raised in Rulo and attended Rulo High School. After high school he was employed with Richardson County. Ted was united in marriage to Dorothy German in 1948; she preceded him in death in 1995. In the 1950’s he was employed with Massman’s doing barge work on the river; he then went to work for Ft. Calhoun Stone and was employed there for 27 years until his retirement in 1992. In 1997 he was united in marriage to Molly Tunender in Rockport, MO.
He is survived by his wife, Molly; son, Ted (Sandy) Bentley; grandson, Jason (Michelle) Bentley; great grandchildren, Morgan and Colby Bentley; stepdaughters, Heidi (Mike) Livermore, Jennifer (Craig) Smith, Heather Tunender (Jim Brill); step grandson, Andrew Livermore; brothers, Ray Bentley, Donald Bentley and Gary Bentley.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy German Bentley; infant son, Alan; and great granddaughter, Alexa Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24 at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Burial will be in the Verdon Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
