Ralph Melvin Clark, 98, of Sedalia, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center. He was born July 17, 1915 in Auburn, the son of Thomas and Mary (Meirerding) Clark.
Ralph’s first marriage was to Mary Martin. On May 19, 1940 he and Lorena Kain were married in Falls City. Lorena preceded Ralph in death on Dec. 8, 2003.
Ralph is survived by two daughters, Beverly Hanson, of Omaha, and Glenda (Michael) Gleason, of Sedalia, MO; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Lorena, Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Jerome; two stepbrothers, Everett and Edward Kiefer; two stepsisters, Delores Darkey and Marion Ellison; and a grandson, Ralph Masek.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church Downtown, with Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mound City, MO. Ralph’s family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service time at the church.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church in care of Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home.
