Glenn Zentner, 88, formerly of Falls City and Boone, IA, died May 22, 2013, at the Comfort House in Pella, IA.
Glenn was born in Arapahoe, CO, on Feb. 28, 1925, the son of Charles and Agusta (Hansen) Zentner. He was delivered by the mother of Jesse James.
On Jan. 15, 1944, Glenn married Sara “Jodie” Setzer in Holton, KS. They lived in Falls City prior to relocating to Boone in the early 1950’s.
In earlier years, Glenn worked for several farm implement stores. He later worked at the Boone County Hospital for over 18 years and was laundry supervisor. He retired in July of 1987.
Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, feeding and watching birds and spending time with his grandchildren. In earlier years, he enjoyed camping.
He is survived by a son, Jeff (Carlyn) Zentner, Harvey, IA, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jodie; brothers, Herbert, Leslie, Frank and Henry; and sisters, Fern and Kate.
Funeral services were held May 28 at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Boone Memorial Gardens.
