Alice M. West

Alice Mae Davis, 78, of Nebraska City, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Nebraska City. She was born Sept. 23, 1934, in Peru, to the late Harry R. and Cora M. (Shively) Davis.  
She grew up in Nemaha and Richardson Counties and graduated from Shubert High School in 1953.
On Dec. 4, 1971, she was united in marriage to Leonard West in Humboldt.
Alice worked at the 9th street Café in Falls City and the Falls City Creamery. She also worked at Missouri Beef for many years.
She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary and V.F.W. in Peru. Alice enjoyed playing cards and being outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard (in 2000); son, Randy Davis; brothers, Clarence, Willis, Paul, Nobel, Carl and Robert); one grandson, Dameon Keeton.
Alice is survived by her son, Craig (Mary) Davis, of Nemaha; step-children, Lynn (Dale) Wurtele, of Nebraska City, Mark (Julie) West, of Talmage; grandchildren, Kim Maddox and Heath Davis, both of Shubert, Matthew Davis, of Lincoln, Molly Hermann and John Wurtele, both of Nebraska City; great-grandchildren, Lacey Keeton and Adelynn Maddox, both of Shubert; great-great-grandchildren, Kameon, Tristin, Millie and Grayson; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Hall Funeral Chapel in Auburn. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Peru.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 and from 9 a.m.-noon Thursday Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 at Hall Funeral Chaple in Auburn.
