The Past Exalted Rulers Association of Falls City Elks Lodge #963 invites the public to a barbecue dinner and auction on Saturday, March 23, at the Lodge at 1417 Stone St. The proceeds from this benefit will go to the Richardson County Cancer Fund, Inc., to help Richardson County cancer patients with travel expenses when they must travel for treatment. The dinner is served from 5-7 p.m. (free will donation) and the auction starts at 7:30.
This is the eighth year for this event. The first seven benefits have raised in excess of $75,000 for this organization. The need is great in our area.
In 2012, 37 cancer patients received benefits from the Richardson County Cancer Fund, bringing the total to 266 patients helped in the first seven years, and benefits paid out totaling $100,500.
