Three Falls City Sacred Heart athletes were recognized as All-State selections over the weekend by the state’s two largest publications and 13 other county ballplayers received mention for their efforts this winter on the hardwood.

Thirteen days removed from a 42-41 sub-district loss to Sterling, Falls City Sacred Heart head coach Doug Goltz, who said his team was “outplayed” in that loss, challenged his players before Thursday’s first-round matchup with Sterling in the state tournament.

Another year older and more importantly, wiser, the Falls City Sacred Heart boys take to the hardwood again Thursday night at the state basketball tournament.
