Mary Lou Simpson-Hill, 87, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 19, 2022 at Falls City. She was born August 22, 1934 at Rulo, NE to Noah and Mary (Stenhauer) Coonce.
She married Charles Simpson on August 1, 1951 at Falls City. He passed away June 11, 1980. She then married David Hill December 12, 1987 at Falls City. He passed away May 28, 2011.
Mary Lou was raised at Rulo and graduated from Reserve High School in 1950. When married to Mr. Simpson they made their home in Rulo and she was a homemaker. Following his death, she worked for In-Home Healthcare for seven years. When she married Mr. Hill, they made their home in Biggsville, IL and she also did home healthcare until she retired in 1998. She moved back to Falls City in 2011 and has lived here since. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Volunteer Ambulance Squad.
Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Michael Simpson and his wife Krista of Ashland, NE, David Simpson and his wife Kirsten of Dawson, NE, daughter, Mary Jo Liberty and her husband Sam of Falls City, daughter-in-law, Tami Simpson of Falls City, brother, William Coonce of Rulo, sister, Inez Foster and her husband Ken of Louisville, TX, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a son, Kenny, granddaughter, Kari Vogel, brothers, James, Robert, Ronald, Kenneth and John Coonce, sisters, Maxine Dannecker, Ramona Eckley, Lula Hall, Beverly Simpson and Mary Helen Croxton.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Hader officiating. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
