Mary “Tip” Simpson, 87, of Omaha, NE, passed away February 25, 2022 at Omaha, NE. She was born November 8, 1934 at Dawson, NE to Sebastian and Mary (Alfers) Koelzer.
She married Donald E. Simpson on June 4, 1955 at Falls City. He passed away May 24, 1995.
Tip was raised in Richardson County and graduated from Falls City Sacred Heart High School in 1952. When married the couple made their home in Omaha. She worked various food service jobs including numerous schools and grocery stores. She retired in 1988. In retirement she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Omaha.
Tip is survived by her sons, Mark of Florissant, CO, Daniel and his wife Cheryl of Omaha, Jeffrey of Crescent, IA, Michael and his wife Judy of Murray, NE, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Timothy, sisters, Dorothy Kerl, Marge Kopf, Rita Darveaux, brothers, Robert, Barney and Jerry Koelzer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Stoley as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited 1 hour prior to the service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
Viewing will begin Tuesday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
