Margaret McCurdy, 87, of Falls City, NE, passed away January 23, 2022 at Falls City. She was born December 18, 1943 at Rulo, NE to Charles and Stana (Murphy) Frederick.
She married Johnnie Lee Sudbury in February of 1952 at Barada, NE. They later divorced. She married Cecil “Zeke” McCurdy on November 7, 1984 at Elko, NV. He passed away in 1992.
Margaret attended school in Nebraska and Wyoming. She lived in Utah and Nevada when married to Mr. McCurdy because he was a safety engineer in the mining industry. She worked as a waitress and in Casinos when she lived in Nevada. She moved to Falls City in 1993 where she worked at Southside Inn and Casino White Cloud. She retired in 1999. She enjoyed doing puzzles, gambling; especially the penny slots and family gatherings of all kinds.
Margaret is survived by her life partner, Richard Gerdes of Falls City, step-daughter, Lori McCurdy, grandchildren, Daniel Sailer of Wheatland, WY, Kathi Jo Wilcox and her husband Chris of Falls City, Scott Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Sara Sudbury of Wheatland, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, children, Jimmy Lee Sudbury, Elizabeth Sue Sudbury and Kathy Johnson and a brother, Charles Frederick, Jr.
Margaret has been cremated and a graveside service will be Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Rulo Cemetery with Fr. Lawrence Stoley as presiding priest.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
