Merlin John Bauman, 75, of Falls City, NE, passed away January 4, 2021 at Falls City. He was born October 13, 1945 at Falls City to Marvin and Berdine (Bredow) Bauman.
He married Shirley Scholl on June 7, 1969 at Rulo, NE.
Merlin served in the Nebraska National Guard, Company B at Falls City.
Merlin was raised on a farm north of Falls City and graduated Sacred Heart High School in 1963. He then started farming with his father and when married the couple established their home on the current family farm north of Falls City. He farmed and raised livestock his entire life and retired from farming in 2010 but still continued to raise livestock. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Arago, NE.
Merlin is survived by his wife Shirley of Falls City, children, Amy Nussbaum and her husband Bill, Matt and his wife Julie and Danelle Cromer and her husband Matt all of Falls City, brother, Allan and his wife Marcella of Falls City, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lindstrom.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Sacred Heart High School.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
