Billie Joann Brandt, 89, of Falls City, passed away September 6, 2018, in Falls City. She was born October 1, 1928, in Salem, to Clarence and Hazel (McDowell) Stitzer.
She married William Johnson on August 5, 1947, in Hiawatha, KS. They divorced in 1969. She then married Ron Brandt on May 5, 1981, in Long Beach, CA. He passed away October 26, 2013.
Billie Joann was raised in Salem and graduated Salem High School in 1946. When married, her and Mr. Johnson established their home in Seneca, KS and moved to Falls City two years later. Then moving to Hastings, NE in 1961 and back to Falls City in 1963. She moved to California in 1994. She and Mr. Brandt moved to Duncan, OK following his retirement and she moved to Falls City in October of 2016.
She is survived by her son, Larry Johnson and his wife Jacqualine of Verdon, daughter, Karol Campbell and her husband James of Grand Prairie, TX, brother, Gerald Stitzer and his wife Treia of Glide, OR, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Bill Johnson, great-granddaughter, Chloe Workman, sisters, Dorma Sutter, Katherine Marsh, Jean Narvarro, Twila Branahm, and a brother, Clyde Stitzer.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 1:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating. Interment will be in Maple Cemetery at Salem.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to Richardson County Cancer Fund.
