Jere G. “Mickey” Cochran passed away May 19, 2015 in Castle Rock, Washington. Mick was born December 28, 1937 in Falls City, Nebraska, to Jesse and Gertrude Cochran. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in 1948. He attended High School in Falls City, earning his GED then attending Peru State College for a semester before joining the Marines. While in the Marines he was stationed in Hawaii, where he played football and competed in track. Most of his working years were spent as a longshoreman, working 36 years out of Oregon and Washington Ports. Mick was an avid sports fan and combined many trips back to Nebraska for the Falls City Alumni Banquet with trips to the College World Series. Mick suffered for the last several years with heart issues until passing away at a youthful 77 years old. Mick is survived by his wife, Janie; three sons, Steve, Jeff and Rick; two daughters, Kristy and Julie ; a sister, Barb; five grandsons; two granddaughters; one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his cat Shadow.
