June Peck, 48, of Spokane, WA, formerly of Falls City, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
June worked for the Spokane School District for 28 years before her retirement in 1996. June was a gifted seamstress and loved children. She combined the two when she was asked to coordinate the Spokane Chapter of ConKerr Cancer, an organization that sews pillowcases for children battling cancer. She took on the challenge, offering her artistic skills and technical knowledge to those around her. June was a quilter extraordinaire and lent her skills to Charity Quilts. In addition, she volunteered her time helping children with their reading skills at Ridgeview Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Larry; sons, Mike (Claudia), Steve (Debbie) and Keven (Allison), grandchildren and special friends.
In lieu of funeral services, there will be a wake in late spring or early summer to celebrate June’s life. Contributions can be made in June’s name to local Cancer Societies.
