Daniel Lynn Strecker was born on September 29, 1957, in Falls City, Nebraska, the oldest of seven sons born to August William and Jeannine Marie (Fryer) Strecker.
Daniel grew up in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1975. Following graduation, he was inducted into the United States Marine Corps, where he served for four years and traveled all over the world. Daniel was honorably discharged in 1980 with the rank of private.
On March 9, 1979, he married Christina Lee Hall in Craig, Missouri. Born to this union were Tyler Roy, Amber Ramona, Nicole Marie, and Sarah Jean.
Daniel worked for the P.J. Murphy Company in Hiawatha, Kansas, and also worked at a tool manufacturing factory.
Daniel passed away on January 9, 2026, at Community Hospital in Fairfax. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannine; brother, Michael; and son-in-law, Michael Lynn Eppens.
Survivors include his father, August; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron (Cindy), Tom (Vikki), Larry (Michelle), Pat, and Steve (Miranda); 15 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Alexis, Alexis Billington, Lucas, Kori, Colby, Catherine, Aiden, Raelee, Kynna, Violet, Autumn, Evan, Austin, and Amelia; two great-grandchildren, Ian and Peyton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel loved his family deeply and treasured the time spent with them. He was a devoted and loving grandfather who took great pride in his grandchildren and was known as the best grandpa. He enjoyed sharing his love of nature and the outdoors with them, especially while camping together and creating lasting memories. His favorite place to camp was southern Missouri. Daniel also had a passion for photography and enjoyed capturing the beauty of the world around him. He loved the outdoors, and his favorite hobbies included turkey hunting, fishing, and camping. He also maintained close relationships with his nephews, keeping in regular contact and bonding over their shared love of classic rock music.
He was a devoted Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and rarely missed an opportunity to follow the team. Cheering for the Huskers was something he truly enjoyed and took pride in throughout his life.
Danny will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
Family visitation will be held Monday, January 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at River of Hope Fellowship Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at River of Hope Fellowship Church. Interment with military honors will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Craig. Lunch will follow at River of Hope Fellowship. Memorials may be directed to the Fisher House, Omaha, Nebraska, or to the River of Hope Children’s Ministry.
