Thomas Leon Fisher was born August 18, 1936, the son of William Lewis and Elizabeth Ann Percival Fisher and passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025.
His elementary years were spent in one-room country schools and he graduated from Shubert High School in 1953. Tom served in the Air Force from 1956-1960 at radar stations in Japan and North Dakota.
After his service he returned home to Falls City and began working at Merz Farm Equipment. He was united in marriage to Vickey Little in 1967 and they became parents to Jill and a few years later Jason. They lived on an 80 acre farm on the west edge of Shubert. Tom farmed, raised hogs, and sold Standard Chemical products. They later divorced. Tom married Clarene Werner in 1978 and soon began a new career as a truck driver at Darling Trucking in Auburn. In 1983 they moved to Sabetha, KS to be closer to his new job at Keim Transportation. In 1993 they bought an acreage south of Pawnee City on the state line near Clarene’s family farm ground. Tom began farming and raising cattle while continuing to drive truck for Seneca Ready Mix. After 10 years he retired from trucking and shortly afterwards they sold the acreage and moved to Pawnee City. For several years Tom worked as a driver for an Amish construction crew hauling them around the local region. When he wasn’t behind the wheel, Tom enjoyed drinking coffee and playing cards with his friends. He was also an excellent window farmer and followed the weather like a lifelong farmer, especially how much and when it rained.
Tom was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Clarene, his parents, sisters Fern and Erma, brothers, Warren(infant), Jack, Paul, and Phillip, great grandson Garrison Glenn, son-in-law Gerald Roberts.
Tom is survived by his daughters Jill Roberts, Marie (Steve) Glenn, Sue (Andy) Leatherman, and Penny (Mark) Oestman, a son Jason (Tiffany) Fisher, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brother Roger and several nieces and nephews.
