Barbara Paddy passed away on Friday, December 13 in Oceanside, California. Barbara was born in Falls City to Keith and Kathleen Carter. She was the youngest of their 4 children. Raised in Falls City, Barbara was the Homecoming Queen of her graduating class. Barbara continued her education at Chillicothe Business School and went on to have a career as an Executive Secretary at General Motors before marrying Robert Paddy. They had 5 children together.
Barbara was very active in the Girl Scouts and was a Deacon at the family church, Dearborn Woods Presbyterian. When returning to the workforce, Barbara worked in administration and billing for an OBGYN practice. She and her husband, Bob, retired to the South Shore of Hubbard Lake, Michigan in the autumn of 1991. They enjoyed a lakefront home that nearly all their children had returned to Michigan to help them build.
Barbara enjoyed her retirement years by working with R.E.A.D. Adult Literacy, forming book and investment clubs, volunteering at the Hubbard Lake Sportsman Club, teaching vacation bible school, learning the art of stained glass, sewing items to help the local churches and much more. During the pandemic, Barbara moved from Hubbard Lake to Oceanside, California.
A funeral will be held for Barbara in May 2024 at the Spruce Presbyterian Church in Spruce, Michigan.. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Boys Town or the American Cancer Society.
