John Lee Wilhelm, 65, of rural Humboldt, Nebraska was born on September 29, 1960, in Falls City, Nebraska to Jerry Lee and Carol Lee (Kelly) Wilhelm. He was raised near Humboldt, Nebraska where he attended Humboldt High School. After his schooling, John began his lifelong passion of farming. He loved farming to his core and especially enjoyed spending time outdoors. John loved fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and “socializing” with his friends and neighbors with a cold Busch Light.
John passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of sixty-five years, nine months, and ten days. He was preceded in death by his mother Carol (Kelly) Wilhelm and brother-in-law Rick Dettmann.
John is survived by his children: Lindsay Davis and husband Kevin of Falls City, Matthew John Wilhelm of Rulo, NE; Nicole Stuart of Humboldt, NE; Shelbie Wilhelm of Humboldt, NE; his father Jerry Wilhelm of Falls City, grandchildren: Tayler Rutland and husband Dylan of Falls City, Madisyn Davis and significant other Tyson Crosby of Falls City, Kacen Davis of Falls City, Kyler Stuart of Humboldt, NE; great-grandchildren: Julianne Crosby of Falls city, Sterling Rutland of Falls City, Tulsyn J. Rutland of Falls City, sisters: Julie Buss and husband Denny of Humboldt, NE; Joan Finner of Falls City, June Dettmann and friend Jim of Iowa, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be held at a later date with inurnment at the St. Mark’s Cemetery in rural Verdon, Nebraska.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
