Dorothy Jones

Dorothy June Jones, 102, of Falls City, NE (formerly of Reserve, KS). She was born October 13, 1923 at Detroit, Michigan to Tom and Goldie (Bloom) Frehse. She passed away May 11, 2026 at Falls City.

She married George Jones, Jr. on December 31, 1941 at Falls City. He passed away August 13, 2007.

Dorothy was raised in Falls City and she graduated Falls City High School in 1941. She attended Highland College and Peru State College earning a teaching degree. Dorothy taught at the Little Chapel Rural School. She retired from teaching in 1953, becoming a farm wife and homemaker, living on the farm in the Reserve area after her husband returned from the war. They moved into Reserve in 1975. Dorothy lived there until she moved to Falls City Nursing and Rehab in 2018. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening and bible studies. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Falls City Music Club.

Dorothy is survived by her son Wayne Jones and his wife Debra of Reserve, seven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two great grandchildren, Kyler and Libby.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Grant Speece officiating. Interment will be at Steele Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

Viewing will begin Sunday afternoon.
