Betty L. Brackhahn, 90 years old, of Falls City, NE, formerly of Beatrice, passed away on December 15, 2025 in Falls City. She was born on February 13, 1935 in Shubert, NE to Frank & Vernell (Neman) Hogue. On June 24, 1956 Betty married Virgil D. Brackhahn in Dawson, NE. They were blessed with two daughters, Susan and Leslie. They established their home in Lincoln for 3 years, and then moved to Beatrice, McCook, Kansas City, back to Beatrice in 1977, and then moved to Falls City in 2024.
Betty was a teacher of music, English, speech and theater. She retired after 32 years of teaching in high schools in Malcom, Diller, Beatrice and Wymore, and at the Southeast Community College.
Betty is survived by her daughter Susan Brackhahn of Lincoln; brother Ed (Donna) Hogue of Upton, Wyoming; niece Kimberly Goff; and nephews Steve Yoder, Mark Hogue, Don Hogue and Ryan Hogue. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil Brackhahn (2024); daughter Leslie Brackhahn (1990); and niece Peggy Hogue.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, 708 North 6th Street in Beatrice. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
