Peggy Marlene Koso (Garland), 80, of Falls City, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Falls City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Peggy was born December 8, 1945 in Falls City, Nebraska, to Burton and Helen (Noah) Garland.
Peggy grew up in Falls City with her grandparents, Hallie and Gladys Noah. In junior high, Peggy moved to Topeka, Kansas with her mother, Helen, and Helen’s new husband Floyd Ward. Floyd became the man that Peggy looked to as her father. After graduating from Topeka Highland Park High School in 1963, Peggy went on to attend beauty school in Topeka, where she met Robert Lindholm. They were married from 1966 – 1977 and lived in Lindsborg, Kansas. Peggy had two children out of this first marriage, Chris and Karey.
After their divorce, Peggy and her children moved back to Falls City, Nebraska. Peggy was introduced to John Koso, and they married on May 16, 1980 and quickly added two sons, Nick and Matt, to the family. They have lived in Falls City throughout their married life.
Peggy was a loyal employee of the local Pamida store for a number of years. She also worked in various jobs with home health care and cleaning houses, and enjoyed working at Milam’s floral shop. Peggy had many hobbies. She collected antiques, crocheted, made beautiful flower arrangements, read books, and loved to watch movies and game shows. Most of all, Peggy loved to spend time with her grandchildren and would travel to visit them for her “vacation”. She was a regular attender of Northridge Church.
Survivors include: her husband, John, her children: Chris Lindholm (Tammy) of Lindsborg, Kansas; Karey Knauss (Donnie) of Abilene, Kansas; Nick Koso (Carrie) of Falls City; Matt Koso of Bedford, Iowa. Grandchildren include: Lucas Knauss (Jackie); Becca Lahr (Isaiah); Ren Duran (Armando); Hannah Knauss; Kaiden Koso; Zach Koso; Fenner Koso; Lincoln Koso; Samara Koso; Corben Koso, and Erin Koso. Great grandchildren: Henry Lahr and Daniel Duran. Her sister, Lesle Vancenbrock of Falls City; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Zachery Koso; and a granddaughter, Bethany Knauss.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 10:30 AM at North Ridge Church with Pastor Andrew Kastendick officiating. Inurnment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at North Ridge Church.
