Samuel J. Liberty, 79, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 1, 2025 at Falls City. He was born April 20, 1945 at Kansas City, MO to Ralph and Hazel (Miller) Liberty.
He married Mary Jo Simpson on July 17, 2003 at Falls City.
Sam was raised at Rulo and graduated Sacred Heart High School in 1963. Following graduation, he was drafted into the U. S. Army. Following his honorably discharge he worked for the U. S. Postal Service and owned a rent to own store in Albuquerque, NM. He later took employment as a truck driver, moving to Lawson, MO in 2002. When married the couple made their home in Falls City. He retired from Crete Carriers in 2010 and then drove part time for area farmers. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Sam is survived by his wife, Mary Jo, children, Lance Liberty, Jennifer Hood, Jonathan Liberty, Samantha Jeter, step-children, Charlie Liberty and Julie Frederick and her husband Keith, brother, Arthur, sister, Eva Smith and her husband Lee and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Raymond, Robert, Donald, Terry, Harold, Richard, Ralph, Jr., sisters, Myrtle Clark, Blanche Van Bebber, Carol Tackett, Sandra Coonce and Catherine Rowell.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Rulo Cemetery with Father Jim Meysenburg officiating. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
