Paula (Gaskill) Bentley, 96, known by many as Grandmother, entered into eternal rest on November 16th, 2023. Surrounded by the nursing staff who cared for her, she passed in the Cabool nursing home of natural causes.
Paula was born on February 12, 1927, in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. Paula devoted her life to serving the Lord and was always happy to share her faith with others. She met her husband, Pat, at the schoolhouse where she worked and instantly fell in love. After marrying, the two of them built a family rooted in a love for God and each other.
She loved teaching others about Christ and did so during the numerous Vacation Bible Schools and Good News Clubs she taught. Later in life, she carried this passion to the assisted living facility, where she regularly engaged in bible study with her fellow residents.
Paula loved painting and was prolific. Her home always had multiple works in-progress, with several finished pieces, each intended for a specific person. Her favorite subject was nature, including the old farm in Quack Valley. She derived a great deal of joy from painting for loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest (Pat) Gilbert Bentley and her sons Lawrence Wayne and Terry Allen.
She is survived by three children Tom, Loren, and Rayleen, as well as 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Her funeral service will take place at the Barada Methodist Church on November 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Immediately after, there will be a graveside service at the Harris Cemetery.
