On Wednesday, December 23, 2021, Mary Ann Jarvis, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dearest friend, passed away at the age of 78 years at University of Colorado Hospital.
She was born to Edward Miller and Mary (Curry) Miller at Lincoln General Hospital October 29, 1943.
She graduated Sacred Heart High School in Falls City Nebraska and attained her Bachelor of Nursing Degree from St Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lincoln Nebraska.
Mary Ann devoted her life to helping others in their time of need in both in her personal and professional lives. Her nursing career spanned over 50 years specializing in mental health in the Denver community. She began her career at Mercy and St. Joseph’s Hospitals and served as Nursing Manager at West Pines. She was a pioneer in psychiatric nursing. Not only did she care for those needing the most severe of psychiatric care, she mentored generations of psychiatric caregivers. Her legacy shall live on in these selfless caregivers, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son Kevin Joseph Jarvis in infancy.
She is survived by the father of her children, Walter Jarvis, sons Brian Keith Jarvis and Matthew Kelly Jarvis, grandchildren Xavier and Natassia, brother Edward Joseph Miller, Jr. and wife Marliss, sister Jeannie Coupe and husband Don (deceased), many nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, beloved cat Fifi and dear friends of whom she also considered family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Father Lawrence Stoley officiating. Inurnment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Saturday at 9:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
