January 19, 1947 – February 27, 2021 Anita Marie Bourke (Ahern), 74, passed away on Saturday February 27th, 2021. She was born on January 19, 1947 in Falls City, Nebraska.
Anita was a teacher, enjoyed Nebraska Cornhusker football, spending time with her family and life on her family farm. She also enjoyed cooking a Sicilian family recipe that was passed onto her, Mostaccioli. One of her greatest joys in life was time spent with her husband of almost 53 years and their four children.
Anita attended Shubert school in her early years and graduated from Falls City Sacred Heart High School in 1965. After high school she subsequently received her teaching degree in 1969 from Kansas Newman College.
Anita was preceded in death by her father, Harold Fredrick Ahern, and mother, Lucia Virginia Nanfito Ahern.
She is survived by her husband, Harold “Jim” Bourke, daughter Lori Alspaugh, son James “Todd” Bourke, daughter, Jeni GettysBourke and son John Bourke along with their son-in-law Michael Alsapugh and daughter-in-law Diana GettysBourke, son Todd’s fiancé Marianne Fox, as well as 7 grandchildren, Haley, Camma, Raymond, Gaby, Michael, Alice and Gavin. Her Brother Tony Ahern, wife Janet and their four children. She is also survived by her beloved dog Dooney and cat Rocket.
