Edward “Bus” Hall, one of five children of Garlan “Fat” and Ella W. (Kerns) Hall, was born February 13, 1946, at Tushla Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska. Bus started his early education at Happy Hollow County School, he then transferred to Nemaha Public School, graduating from Nemaha High School with the class of 1964.
While at school in Nemaha, Bus met the love of his life, Nancy Jones. Bus and Nancy were married May 25, 1966, at Stella Community Church. To this union two children were born: Eric Lee and Amy Lynne.
In 1965, Bus went to work for Pentizien, Inc. Then in 1972, he started his own company, before returning to work for Pentizien, Inc. in 1986. Bus then worked nearly 30 years for Pentizien, before retiring in 2008. He would then own and operate a sawmill, until retiring again in May of 2014.
When his health no longer allowed him to stay at home, Bus moved to the Good Samaritan Society-Auburn on Monday, February 22, 2021. It is there that he passed away, one day later, on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, just 10 days after his 75th birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents, younger brother Jim Hall, sister-in-law Delores Hall, and brother-in-law Gary Shafer.
Bus is survived by his wife Nancy of Stella; son and daughter-in-law Eric and Stacie Hall of San Antonio, TX; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Chad Petersen of Bennet; grandchildren Colton Crisp, Kylee Hall, Tasa and Conner Petersen; brother Jack Hall of New Mexico; sisters Edna Shafer of Florida, Connie and husband Roger Kramer of Malcolm; sister-in-law PJ Hall of Omaha; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Stella Community Church, officiated by Rev. John States and Rev. Heath Kramer. Urn bearers were grandchildren Colton Crisp, Kylee Hall, Tasa Petersen, and Conner Petersen. Flower attendants were Dr. Rugmini Warrior and the nursing staff at Southwest Dialysis Center of Lincoln. Burial followed in the Stella Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to Hemmingsen Funeral Home of Auburn.
