Jackie “Jack” Sells, 80, of Rulo, NE, passed away November 27, 2020, in Omaha, NE. He was born May 7, 1940, at Sabetha, KS, to Cliff and Ruth (Majerus) Sells.
He married Frances Ruch on August 2, 1962, at Rulo.
Jacked enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1963.
Jack was raised at Rulo and graduated from Reserve High School in 1959. When he was discharged, he returned to Rulo and when the couple married, they established their home in Rulo. He worked at the Rulo Elevator, Frontier Homes, Falls City Millworks and Community Medical Center Retiring in 2002. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo, the Northeast Nebraska/Southeast Kansas Coyote Hunters Club and also a member of Rulo City Cemetery and Catholic Cemetery Boards.
Jack is survived by his wife, Frances of Rulo, children, Deanna Peck of Hastings, NE, Terry Deters of Oawkie, KS, John and his wife Laurie of Rulo, Amanda Hopper and her husband Eric of Dawson, NE, sisters, Shirley Gormley and her husband Joe of Hiawatha, KS, Margaret Sutherland and her husband Arch of Troy, KS, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Sharon Sells of Falls City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020, at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
COVID 19 Funeral Guidelines will be implemented with limited spaced seating (25% occupancy), 6 feet of separation between household units and masks required.
Open visitation and viewing will begin on December 5 from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM and on December 6 from noon until 7:00 PM.
The rosary will be a private family ceremony.
