Elmer Randall, Jr., 86, of Falls City, passed away July 12, 2018 in Falls City. He was born May 18, 1932 on the Iowa Tribe of Nebraska and Kansas Reservation to Elmer and Leatha (Joslin) Randall.
Junior was raised in Rulo, area and graduated Rulo High School in 1949. He turned down an academic scholarship to college to care for his ill father and help provide for his mother and younger sister. He worked as a dredge operator on the Missouri River.
He married Joan Marie Milburn on November 15, 1953 in Hiawatha, KS. She passed away February 11, 2018.
When married the couple established their home in Falls City and he worked a total of three jobs for fifteen years each. He worked as a truck driver for Falls City Mercantile, was a salesman for Falls City Meat Company and a warehouse supervisor for Woodings Verona. He retired in 1997 and then worked part time jobs to stay busy.
He enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He was a mentor and teacher to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and a caregiver to his wife when she became ill. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Junior is survived by his children, Debra Faller and her husband Steve of Kansas City, MO, William and his wife JoLana of Falls City, Linda Schuetz and her husband Dave of Preston, sister, Yvonne Schawang and her husband Earl of Falls City, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Barbara Joan in infancy and his step-father, Samuel Randall.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Cole Kennett as the presiding priest.
Inurnment of Joan and Elmer will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 7:15 PM at Rulo Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary was recited on Sunday at 4:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with family greeting friends afterwards.
