Bernice Shorb

Bernice Shorb of Johns Island, SC passed away Jan. 20, 2018. She was born Dec. 14, 1922 in Falls City to Benjamin and Edith (Kruse) Gatz. She graduated from Falls City High School in 1941. On Nov. 10, 1942 she married Robert Shorb in Wichita Falls, TX, where he was stationed in the Army. After Mr. Shorb’s discharge in 1946 they made their home on a farm Northwest of Rulo. She worked at the Richardson County Courthouse for many years. She is survived by three children, Robert and his wife Jane, Hanford, CA, John, Okeechobee, FL and Sally and her husband Robert Burke, Johns Island, SC. A sister, Ruth Grimes of Dallas, TX. Four grandchildren and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Ramona Tubach, Delta Bletscher and Marjory Sharp, and one grandson Michael.
