E-4 Richey-Scrivens to speak at 2017 Veterans Day Program

E-4 Crystal Richey-Scrivens will be the honored speaker for this years Veterans Day Program at the Falls City High School on Friday, November 10 at 11:00 AM. Crystal, a Falls City native and 2003 graduate of Falls City High School, continued her education at Peru State College earning a BA in Business in 2011. Before graduating from high school.

Scrivens enlisted in Nebraska City’s National Guard 173 Chemical Unit in 2002. She attended basic at AIT training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. She was deployed with the 755 Chemical Unit from Omaha in 2006-2007 to LSA Anaconda near Balad, Iraq as a gunner for convoy security. One had to have a rank of E-4 or higher to be classified as a gunner. E-4 Scrivens was honorably discharged in 2011.

Her husband Neil is still active in the Nebraska National Guard. Crystal Richey-Scrivens, the daughter of Cliff and Julie Phroper will also be the speaker at the 6:00 p.m.

Veterans Day dinner at First United Methodist Church. Crystal is currently employed at Herzog as an AAR purchaser/Customer service person. Other events taking place on Friday, November 10, at 10 a.m. a Veterans and Families Coffee will be held at FCHS. The Veteran’s Day Parade will be held at 1:30 p.m. down Stone Street. Following the parade a Reception honoring our Veterans will be held at ShopKo.
