LETHA (LEE) HUNNICUTT

Letha (Lee) Hunnicutt was called to be with the Lord on October 27, 2016. She was a long time cancer survivor, being assisted by Hospice of Saint Francis as her disease progressed.

Lee was born to John and Cecile Pearson on September 5, 1924 in Preston, Nebraska.

Lee graduated from Falls City High School, Falls City, Nebraska in 1942.

Lee attended Westmar College in Le Mar, Iowa, and Parkville College, Missouri and graduated from Kansas University in Lawrence, Kansas.

She met her husband to be, Herbert A Hunnicutt while on a voyage to Europe. Herbert was an officer aboard the cruise ship, the S/S Washington. When they return to the United States they were soon married in Washington DC. Starting to raise a family in Miami, Florida then moving to Leesburg, Florida before moving to Titusville, Florida in 1962. She retired from N.A.S.A. at Cape Kennedy after 26 years.

Lee and her husband Herbert were delighted to be charter members of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church in Titusville, Florida where she assumed the role of their first pianist.

One of her greatest joys was traveling with her friends and family. Lee enjoyed several trips to the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, and Mexico and along all the beautiful islands from St. Thomas to Barbados.
Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hunnicutt, 1989; her lovely daughter and angel, Dana Hunnicutt, 2015. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Arlene Hunnicutt.

Services will be held at North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville, Florida, October 30, 2016 visitation will be at 4:00 PM funeral service at 4:30 PM and interment at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens to follow.
