Carolyn R. Hemberger, 89, passed away on Dec. 16, 2015 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, North Carolina.
She was born Carolyn R. Ruegge in St. Francis, KS on May 15, 1926, and married George in 1945. The couple were longtime residents of Hastings, Nebraska and then lived in California for many years before moving to Grand Junction, Colorado.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter and caregiver Patricia Overfelt and her husband Christopher of Parkton, North Carolina; a son, Robert Hemberger and his wife Patricia of Grand Junction, Colorado; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A burial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2016 at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings, Nebraska. There she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 69 years, George H. Hemberger.
A memorial service will be held in May, with details to be announced later.
