EDGE awards to be conferred upon FC’s leaders

     Falls City EDGE has announced the launching of two new community-based awards — the Millenial Community Builder Award and the Wall of Fame — and winners of this inaugural year will be recognized at the EDGE Annual Banquet Jan. 13, 2016. 
    The 2016 Millennial Community Builder Award will recognize a young person between the ages of 15-30 years of age who is making extraordinary contributions to their community via leadership and volunteer efforts. 
    “We are looking for those who believe in their community and special consideration will be given to those young individuals who have made Falls City or Richardson County their home or plan to in the future,” EDGE Director Beckie Cromer said.
    The winner will be recognized with a personalized crystal award.
    The Wall of Fame nominees must have made significant contributions in Falls City or Richardson County in the areas of volunteerism, leadership and philanthropic activity. 
    “These deserving individuals have been role models for citizens and were instrumental in making Falls City the passionate, proven and prosperous community we enjoy today,” Cromer said. “We will look to install between one and 10 nominees in this first year and nominations will be accepted posthumously.”
    Those selected for this prestigious award will be recognized by having their personalized plaque line the walls at the EDGE office.
    “This permanent display will serve to remind area citizens that the success we all share is thanks to those individuals who give back so generously to their community,” Cromer said. “Their vision and leadership have been vital to the sustainability of our local area.”
    There is no requirement for inductees to be EDGE members, but they and their families are encouraged to be present to accept the award the evening of the banquet. 
    “We want to thank them for the kind contributions they have made to their community,” Cromer said.
