DOUG RUE

Doug Rue, 61, of Falls City,  passed away July 1, 2015 at Falls City. He was born October 2, 1953 at Humboldt, to the late Ranselaer and Bernice (Crews) Rue.

Doug enlisted in the U. S. Army on April 1, 1971. He earned a National Defense Service Medal and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 21, 1973 at Ft. Riley, KS.

Doug was raised at Falls City and attended Falls City High School. Following his discharge he returned to Falls City and did construction work, then worked for Missouri Beef Packers for eleven years and then became employed by the Nebraska Department of Roads for twenty-seven years until 2011 when his health failed. He was a member of Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard and Falls City Elks Lodge #963.

On October 19, 1973 he married Pam Harkendorff at Zion United Church of Christ, northeast of Falls City.

Doug is survived by his wife, Pam of Falls City, children, Paul and his wife Sara of Falls City, Kelli Kennel and her husband Loyal of Falls City, brothers, Richard of Falls City, Larry and his wife Marcia, Terry and his wife Sheila both of Wilber, NE, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his by his parents, brother, Ronnie and sisters, Patty Coolen and Karen Schulenberg

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Military honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.
