Jarod M. Coonce, 30, of Topeka, KS, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. He was born Aug. 29, 1984, in Falls City, the son of Gail “Ed” and Donna (Whitehead) Coonce.
He graduated from Topeka High School in 2003 and was employed with Falley’s, Payless Shoe Source and Wal-Mart.
Jarod was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.He participated in Boy Scouts and was a moderator in forum communities for “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.”
He helped with a fundraiser for A Place to Call Home.
Jarod is survived by his parents; sister, Jamie (Nathaniel) Hogan; grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Lou Coonce and Delores Chandler; aunts and uncles, Audrey Pedersen, Kendra Ballagh, Jill Sumpter and Jim Whitehead; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Melvin Whitehead; and two uncles, Neil and Gary Whitehead.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Topeka. Burial followed at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday at the Penwell-Gable Funeral Home, of Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
