DONALD E. STOKES

Donald E. Stokes, 65, of Falls City, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at Falls City. He was born on Oct. 4, 1949 at Falls City to the late Ervin and Gladys (Constantine) Stokes.

On April 8, 2011, he married Rosalie Nissen Picton at Falls City.

He was raised at Falls City and following his schooling Don worked on the family farm and for other farmers. He then worked at Sunset Campers and Frontier Homes. He returned to farming and worked for Stalder Cattle Co., and then for David Sickel until he became employed at Indian Cave State Park. He worked in Texas for three years for Hill Trucking Co., locally for the soil conservation for two years and Falls City Vault Co.

He was a member of the Good News Assembly of God Church in Falls City.

Don is survived by his wife, Rosalie Stokes, of FC; step-children, Christopher Ivey, of FC, and Meagan Ivey, of Shubert; brother, Harlan (Eula) Stokes, of Sabetha, KS; sister, Karen (Raymond) Simon, of Falls City; step-grandchildren, Anthony Metzger, Ali Rose Ivey, Christiannon Ivey; step-great-grandson, Alex Ivey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edwin.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at Good News Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating. Interment in Rulo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
