Janette Elnora Wickham, 69, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at Hospice House in Poland, OH. Jan was born June 5, 1945 in Falls City, the daughter of the late Henry and Elnora (Stratton) Mack.
She attended Dawson-Verdon High School, where she played in the band and was on the speech team. Her greatest love was 4-H and her animals.
On June 30, 1961, Janette married the love of her life, Terry L. Wickham. Together they created three beautiful daughters. Terry passed away Oct. 27, 2010 after a lengthy illness, after 49 years of marriage.
While married, their jobs took them to California, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas and back to Oklahoma to retire. Jan loved the long horn cows, so they went to Oklahoma, too. After Terry’s passing she moved to Ohio to be near her family. She worked 20 years in law enforcement.
Jan is survived by three daughters, Nanette (Lonnie) Ankrom, of Salem, Valerie Wickham, of Austintown, OH, and Sally Wickham, of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Bright, of Ralston; brother, Charles (Gail) Mack, of Verdon; four nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Fredrick H. Mack and great-grandson, Braxton K. Butler.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
