DALE ‘TATER’ Jones

Dale “Tater” Jones, 89, of Lincoln, passed away Aug. 20, 2014 at Lincoln. He was born March 31, 1925 at Falls City to the late Moss and Maude (Odom) Jones.

Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 11, 1942 at Falls City. He served at Pearl Harbor and on several ships. He was honorably discharged as a Radioman Second Class on Sept. 14, 1945 at Shoemaker, CA.

Dale married Bernice E. Brown on Dec. 31, 1947 in Falls City; she passed away in 1994.

Dale was raised in Falls City and attended FC High School. He joined the Navy and he retured to Falls City following his return from the service. The couple established their home in Falls City when married and he worked as a carpenter. He worked in various places and at various jobs. He retired as a real estate appraiser in 1995 at Kennewick, WA. He moved back to Falls City in 2005 and then to Lincoln in 2009. He belonged to the Presbyterian Church at Kennowick.

Dale is survived by his son, Tom Jones, of Falls City; daughter, Jacqueline Lauer of San Jose, CA; step-daughter, Darcee Terry, of Morgan Hill, CA; brother, Bill Jones, of Falls City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces, with a special thank you to niece Jolana Randall for all the love and support.

Dale has been cremated and services will be held at a later date.
