Lincoln Christian narrowly edged David City, 237 to 238, last Wednesday to win the Gold Division of the 14-team Palmyra Invitational at Woodland Hills. Falls City finished seventh with a team score of 282, while Humboldt-TR-S was ninth with a 304.
Dana Van Ostrand of Lincoln Christian had the low round of the day with a 3-over-par 74. David City’s Tylar Samek was runner-up with a 5-over-par 77 and Christian’s Micah Dworak was third with a 78.
Brody Weinmann’s round of 86 led FC and the junior finished just out of medal contention in 11th place – one stroke back of Lincoln Christian’s Caleb Johnson. FC freshman Aaron Kurpgeweith went out in 43 and came in at 47 for a round of 90. He finished 18th. Bailey Bindle, a sophomore, finished with a 106 to round out FC’s Gold Division team score.
HTRS was led by Grant Nanninga’s 48-47, 95. Tony Jimenez and Schuyler Kuhlmann finished with rounds of 103 and 106, respectively.
Syracuse won the Silver Division with a combined 267, as they bested Milford by two strokes. The Titans finished ninth with a 327, while the Tigers were ninth with a 357. Jacob Wilhelm (100), Wyatt Ramsey (112) and Tony Knudson (115) made up HTRS’ Silver Division team. The Tigers Silver Division trio consisted of sophomore Colton Reiss, 110, junior Preston Deckinger, 112, and sophomore Cody Frederick, 135.
