Falls City dropped a pair of St. Joseph, MO road games last week, first to Bishop LeBlond, 30-24, last Tuesday, and Thursday the Lady Tigers fell, 46-23, at Lafayette.
Junior Sydney Armbruster led FC with six points against LeBlond, while senior Brooke Scheitel and freshman Alyssa Frederick each recorded six points against Lafayette.
The Lady Tigers travel to Hiawatha, KS this week for the 37th Annual Hiawatha Invite. Fourth-seeded FC (7-10) will face the hosts, Hiawatha (4-6) in the first round tonight at 8. FC lost to Hiawatha, 42-36, in the second game of the season on Dec. 10.
FC’s half of the bracket includes top-seeded Marysville (8-2) against Riverside (0-10) tonight at 6:30. The bottom half of the bracket includes second-seeded Horton (6-3) against No. 7 Rock Creek sat 5:30 and No. 3 Nemaha Valley (7-3) takes on No. 6 Jackson Heights (4-7) in the tourney’s first game at 3:30.
Thursday’s semifinals are scheduled for 6:30 and 8 p.m., and the second-round consolation games will be played at 3:30 and 5. Saturday’s championship is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Other games Saturday are for 7th place at 10 a.m., 5th place at 11:30 a.m. and 3rd place at 1 p.m.
