Rod Miller, 74, of Atkinson, formerly of Topeka, KS, and Falls City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Atkinson. Rod was born June 20, 1939 at Sabetha, KS, to Byron (Barney) and Elma B. (Rowlett) Miller.
He grew up in the Honey Creek area and graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1956. He attended the University of Missouri and belonged to Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
He married Sally Ralston Sept. 11, 1960 in Sabetha.
Rod was a Graphic Artist at Mainline Printing for 20 years and retired in March of 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rod is survived by his wife, Sally, of Atkinson; daughters, Stephanie (Erik) Olson, of Atkinson, and Pamela (Randy) Singleton, of Henderson, NV; two grandchildren; three sisters, Karen (Gail) Harris, of Santa Clara, CA, Wanda Petty, of Ukiah, CA, and JoAnn Bernhardt, of Lincoln.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at the First Christian Church in O’Neill, with Pastor Wes Thompson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Atkinson Good Samaritan Center. Seger Funeral Home, Atkinson, is in charge of arrangements.
