Humboldt-TR-S dropped two of three Saturday at the Johnson County Central Invite and currently sits at 10-6 on the season.
HTRS defeated Falls City in their opening round match 25-13 and 25-14, but fell to Thayer Central, 25-13, 20-25, 25-11, and Nebraska City Lourdes, 25-18, 22-25, 25-10.
Senior Courtney Allen had a big day for HTRS, finishing with a team-high 32 digs and added 18 service points and 19 kills. Senior Carmen Alexander shared the team-high with Allen with 18 points, including four aces. Another senior, Kasey Kappel, served 16 points with four aces and recorded 46 digs and 25 digs. Junior Ashton Nanninga finished the day with a team-high 25 kills.
Last Thursday, HTRS defeated Fairbury at home in four sets, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-18. Alexander picked up 20 digs, while Allen and Kappel each recorded 17. Nanninga led the way with nine kills, 16 points and four aces.
HTRS travels to Pawnee City Thursday for a triangular beginning at 5:30 p.m.
