Sacred Heart suffers third loss of the season

Falls City Sacred Heart suffered their first home loss of the season and just their third overall Monday night against visiting Savannah, MO.

Savannah jumped out in front by winning the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19, but the Lady Irish battled back to take a close third set, 26-24, and then cruised in the fourth, 25-13, before falling in a highly contested fifth set, 16-14.

Sophomore Maggie Goltz led the Irish with 15 kills, while junior Abby Magdanz and freshman Haylee Heits finished with 13 and 10, respectively. Junior Elizabeth Magdanz was a perfect 16-for-16 serving with two aces and also passed for 33 assists. Senior Ashli Jordan was also solid on her serves and finished 24-for-25 with two aces.

The sixth ranked Lady Irish travel to Lewiston Tuesday night.
