Helen Ruth McKim, 89, of Falls City, passed away Aug. 24, 2013 at Falls City. She was born July 16, 1924 at Falls City to the late LeRoy and Juanita (Kirkendall) McFarland.
On Aug. 17, 1946 she married Kenneth E. McKim at San Antonio, TX. He passed away Feb. 14, 2013.
Helen Ruth was raised in Falls City and graduated from FC Sacred Heart in 1942. Following graduation she became employed at Woolworth’s Department Store. She then became a home maker and raised her children. When the children left the home she became employed at Tober’s Clothing Store. She retired in 1978. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Bingo Committee of her church, Does Drove #56 all of Falls City.
Helen Ruth is survived by her son, Mike (Mary), of Warrensburg, MO; daughter, Marsha (George) Schieber, of Overland Park, KS; daughter-in-law, Ruth McKim of Beatrice; brother, James (Peggy) McFarland, of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Larry and grandchildren, Christopher Schieber and Natalie Cunningham.
Catholic Daughters Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home in Falls City.
A Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Msgr. Robert A. Roh officiating. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery. Parish Rosary will be recited at 11.
