VIVIAN ‘DARLENE’ LOCKARD

  Vivian “Darlene” (McIntire) Lockard, 78, of Stella, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Auburn.
   She was born Oct. 5, 1937, to Charlie and Lucina (Keeton) McIntire in Roscoe, MO.  She grew up in the Humboldt area and attended school in Humboldt through the 11th grade.  Darlene transferred to Stella High School for her senior year, where she graduated with the class of 1956.  She later attended and graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln and also received her license of cosmetology at Beatrice School of Beauty.
   On Sept. 21, 1958, Darlene was united in marriage to Dennis “Denny” Lockard.  To this union four children, Dennise, Dennette, Dennis and Darren, were born.  
   Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Denny Lockard of Stella, children, Dennise (Lonnie) Ramer, Dennette Wheeler (Rick Gilbertson), Dennis (Darinda) Lockard and Darren Lockard (Wendy Hammer), eight grandchildren, a great-grandchild, sisters-in-law Nellie Lee Lockard of Stella and Dorthy Lockard of Arlington, TX, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie McIntire and Lucina Hastings, step-father, Kenneth Hastings, and brothers-in-law, J.D., George and Byford (Loretta) Lockard.
   Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Stella Community Church in Stella, with Pastor Bill Stearns officiating.  Interment will be at the Stella Cemetery.
   Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 22, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt.  Family greeted friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.
