Hanging Out The Warsh — July 30, 2013

I know that I have mentioned this before.  Helen Thomas, who died recently at the age of 92, was married to Doug Cornell, who grew up in Falls City, the son of Dr. and Mrs. L. L. Cornell. Dr. Cornell was an osteopath with an office on the second floor of l602 Stone Street.

As you read over the weekend and perhaps knew from watching her sitting on the front row at White House press conferences, Ms. Thomas posed difficult questions at times for whoever was president. She covered the White House for the United Press and Doug did the same for the Associated Press.   As dean of the White House press corps she had the honor of ending the conferences with “Thank you, Mr. President.” Most Presidents were happy when she ended them. However, I can remember President  Kennedy joustling with her at the press conferences.

You will be taken to a new page where you will need to fill out the necessary information. Select “E-edition” under the subscription plan and you will be directed to the Journal’s PayPal account where you will pay for your subscription.
