Betty Larson

Betty Larson, 71, of Verdon, passed away July 17, 2013 at Auburn. She was born May 19, 1942 at Dawson to the late John A. and Irene A. (Mashaw) Kimes.

In 1960 she married Paul Larson at Humbodlt, they were later divorced.

Betty was raised in Dawson and graduated from the Dawson-Verdon High School in 1960. When married the couple established their home in Verdon. She worked at The Vogue clothing store in Falls City for many years. Following her retirement she lived the rest of her life in Verdon. She was a member of the Verdon Congregational Church and attended the Brethren Church at Falls City.

Betty is survived by a brother, John (Joyce) Kimes, of York; sisters, Maxine (Richard) Bell, of Long Beach, CA, Dorothy (Mark) Forbis, of Auberry, CA; nephew, Charles (Linda) Kimes, of Dawson; other nieces and nephews; and special friend, Duane Elliott, of Falls City. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harlan and Gordon Kimes, sisters, Phyllis Prine and Norma Kimes.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Verdon Congregational Church with Rev. Ronald Russell and Pastor Victor Haworth officiating. Interment will be in Heim Cemetery.

Visitation was Friday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
