Jeep test drive leads to theft charges for Humboldt area woman

A Humboldt area woman will be arraigned on June 3rd in Richardson County Court after her alleged connection in the theft of a vehicle from Armbruster Motor Company in Falls City.
Erica Beethe was charged with theft by unlawful taking and false reporting during a bond hearing last week in county court.

Beethe was arrested Friday, May 17th in connection with the theft of a Jeep Wrangler from Armbruster Motor Company during the afternoon hours of May 16th

According to the affidavit, Beethe and a man, identified as “Brad,” took the Jeep for a test drive and drove it south to the state line where Brad made her get out of the vehicle. Beethe said she called the RCSD to report what had happened, but the Sheriff’s Department had no record of the call. Cellphone records indicated that Beethe’s last call to the RCSD occurred 21 days earlier.

Beethe’s bond was set at $3,500.

The Jeep has not yet been recovered, but the FCPD is continuing to investigate the theft. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact to the FCPD.
